Focus on the company, not the share price. Don't worry about knowing why a company's share price goes up or down. The share price of a good company can go up or go down in the short term. Share price of a bad company can also go up and go down in the short term. Volatility of share price in the stock market is something we should accept.
Share price is dictated by the market and the market consist of different types of people and these different types of people have their reasons for buying and selling the shares. The movement of share price in the short term does not say anything at all with regards to the value of the company. So it's really a futile and useless effort to know the reason.
And why are you panicking and let an idiotic person determine the value of your company every day? For example, do you sell your house immediately when a fool comes and tell you that your house is only worth $100,000? I don't think so because you know the true market value of your property is more than that which is $300,000.
So when someone stupid from the stock market offers to buy your ownership of a very good company at a super cheap price, you are not obliged to sell. You have the choice to ignore his unreasonable offer and wait for a better deal next time.
Problem comes when you don't think like an owner of a business but as a gambler. When you are a gambler or a speculator, you are so fixated on the share price movement every single day and you interpret the rise and fall of share prices very personally as your profits and losses. But if you think like a true investor and business owner instead, you will think in terms of expensive or cheap.
Understand that we can't control the company's share price. Many people make the mistake of focusing on something they can't control. Focus on what we can control which is investing in good and high quality companies. When you invest in great companies, your company's intrinsic value grows and their share price will also grow in tandem to the business value in the long term.
